Contentment



This picture is one of a typical Indian laborer. Although the lady probably toils away day and night, there is a certain cheerfulness & contentment on her beautiful face - at least definitely in the original photograph :-). This is what appealed to me the most. That, and of course the light on her face.

I enjoyed painting this one. Maybe the right half of the face needs more smoothening out. Isn't it quite a challenge to paint an open mouth :-) !

  4. yeah, the bindi was white in the original pic. I found it odd too, but kinda left it as is because I thought the white might add to the 'glow' on her forehead :):)
